Tel Aviv Stocks Off Slightly at the Start

Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange posted moderate losses at the beginning of trading on Monday. A few minutes into the session, the TA Composite index stood at 1,021.51, down a tenth of percent, while the TA 100 slipped .11 percent to 1,031.72, including a .13-percent decline to 1,126.41 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues. The 50 stocks just below the TA 100 advanced .01 percent to 368.90 while the same percentage increase meant a 285.21 posting for the real estate index.

The communications and media issues advanced .27 percent to 598.46, while the biomed stocks slipped .04 percent 778.71 and the rest of the technology index stood at 339.83. The oil and natural gas issues opened at 1,233.75, down .21 percent while the same percentage decrease meant a posting of 908.98for the financial institutions. The banking component declined .07 percent to 978.95, while the insurance stocks stood at 1,030.66, down .55 percent.
