United States Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann, the first candidate to drop out of the Republican race for president, renounced her Swiss citizenship, Thursday, only two days after she received her new passport.

Representative Bachmann called herself a proud American citizen. She said, earlier this week, that she applied for the Swiss citizenship at the request of her children, but decided to cancel because of the criticism she received.
