Members of the Likud Central Committee who live in Judea and Samaria praised the government, Friday, for submitting its request to the Supreme Court to defer the uprooting of the Ulpana (religious girls' high school) neighborhood in the Binyamin-region Jewish community of Beit El, scheduled for next week. The committee members said, "The government caught itself at the last moment and prevented unnecessary political suicide."
A statement issued by the committee members continued, "The time has come for a proper comprehensive solution to all construction problems in Judea and Samaria and not to act like firefighters[, "fighting fires as they come up"-ed.]. Since it is already clear to everyone that sooner or later, the government will eventually extend Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria, why wait? We call on the government to take the initiative and prepare a government bill to initiate Israeli sovereignty in Judea and Samaria."
