Member of Knesset Yochanan Plesner(Kadima) condemned, Friday, thestate's request of the Supreme Court to postpone theuprooting in the Ulpana (religious girls' high school) neighborhood of the Binyamin-region Jewish community of Beit El, currently scheduled for May 1st. Plesner issued a statement which read, "[Prime Minister Binyamin] Netanyahu is againtrying todelay the endatthe lastmoment,because hecannot withstand the pressureoftens of thousands ofright-wingLikud party members."
Referring to the Likud's Manhigut Yehudit (Jewish Leadership) faction, led by Moshe Feiglin, the statement continued, "The Feiglinitescontinue to dictate theLikudagendawithinthe cracking authority of therule of law. In its 65thyearof independence, Israel isa worthy ofleadership that respects the law. Kadima willtorpedoall attempts in the next [Knesset session] tocircumventthecourt."
