Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange posted modest losses in early trading on Tuesday. About a quarter of an hour into the session, the TA Composite index stood at 1,053.70, down .21 percent, while the TA 100 declined .24 percent to 1,064.50, including a .36 percent drop to 1,157.55 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
The oil and natural gas stocks rose .52 percent to 1,258.47, while the real estate index stood at 296.85, up .12 percent. The communications and media issues slipped .03 percent to 625.76, while most of the technology stocks stood at 344.71, down two tenths of a percent, and the biomed index declined three-tenths of a percent to 307.54. The insurance issues stood at 1,074.69, down .11 percent as the financial institutions slumped .41 percent to 934.91, including a .78 percent drop to 1,001.63 by the bank stocks.
