Arab residents of two buildings in Jerusalem were evicted this week. The Israel Land Fund successfully proved that the Arab residents were squatters and did not have the right to be on the premises. The buildings were proven to be legally purchased by Jewish owners. The Arab tenants refused to leave in exchange for compensation. Aryeh King, the head of the Israel Land Fund praised the eviction and said he hoped to secure permits for new housing units on the property and that the real estate would be marketed toward young couples.
