(Lack of) Immigration Policy a Strategic Blow to Israel

Member of Knesset Zevulun Orlev told the Fifth Ramle Conference on the Problem of Foreign Workers, Sunday, "The lack of an immigration policy, which has led to more than 600,000 people staying in Israel illegally, is absolute lawlessness and a severe government breakdown, which constitutes a strategic blow which threatens the state of Israel's Jewish character."

In calling for the allocation of resources to enforce laws and close loopholes against illegal entry from Egypt, the Palestinian Authority and the Far East, he stressed, "The government of Israel must understand that the price of complacency is the imminent danger of assimilation of young people and a threat to the Jewish majority in Israel. We must save the land of Israel to absorb millions of Jews and not illegal infiltrators."
