Most of the featured indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange posted modest to sharp losses on Sunday. The TA Composite index declined 1.44 percent to 1,014.40, while the TA 100 closed at 1,025.15, down 1.46 percent, including a 1.8 percent drop to 1,110.48 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues. The 50 stocks outside the TA 100 finished the first day of the trading week at 364.01, down 2.01 percent.
Worst hit was the insurance index, which fell 2.82 percent to 1,044.12, followed by the bank issues, which closed at 984.51, down 2.74 percent as the financial institutions finished the day at 916.00, down 2.42 percent. The communications stocks declined 2.17 percent to 591.60, while the biomed index closed at 733.67, down 2.01 percent, and the rest of the technology issues slipped .15 percent to 320.71. The real estate index finished the day at 292.68, down 1.99 percent and the oil and natural gas stocks slumped. 1.71 percent to 1,246.35.
