Israeli Goods Banned at Arab Hotel in Eastern Jerusalem

The 47-year-old St. George Landmark Hotel in eastern Jerusalem was rededicated and upgraded to five stars last week, following a $10 million renovation project financed by Shechem businessman Munib Almasri as part of a Palestinian Authority (PA)-Jordanian venture. Jordan's Landmark company will run the hotel, marking the first Jordanian investment in Jerusalem.

Bethlehem governor Abd Al-Fatah Khamil ordered that PA security and agricultural inspectors prevent Israeli watermelons, strawberries, onions and potatoes from being brought into the hotel. Violators face prosecution and the Israeli produce stands to be destroyed.
