Kam Petition Against Knesset Committee Rejected

The Supreme Court rejected, Sunday, a petition by Anat Kam against the Knesset Constitution, Law and Justice Committee which, she claims, is intentionally dragging its feet on a law named after her. Kam is appealing her conviction and 4.5-year sentence for passing classified information to Haaretz journalist Uri Blau. Under the "Kam Law", the penalty for the crime she is convicted of would be lower than the current penalty listed in the espionage and treason statute and could help her appeal.

The court ruled that there is no reason to get involved in the Knesset's legislative process in her case.
