North Korea displayed a new missile during a military parade in Pyingyang on Sunday. The parade was held in honor of the 100th birthday of North Korean dictator Kim il-Sung, who established the country's communist government. Military experts in Japan and South Korea who saw photos and videos of the missile believe that it is more advanced than the missile that North Korea launched in a test firing last week, but that more study was needed to determine this.
North Korea conducted a test launch of another missile several days ago. The test failed. The UN Security Council condemned North Korea for the firing, saying that it violated UN rules.
