Yotam Katz, the boy who was critically injured in the fall of a building column during a Purim event for Scouts in northern Tel Aviv, is expected to be released, Monday, from Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv to rehabilitation at the Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer. His father, Yaron Katz, told Israel Defense Forces Radio, "Yotam stunned the doctors. His recovery was fast and surprising."
Yaron Katz said his son's principle injury was a head injury, adding that Yotam also had a hip injury and had to undergo several surgeries in the month since accident. He said, "The process is not short from what we hear from the medical staff. Until today it has been fast and in spite of the optimism we have had all the time, it was not clear that we would get to the point where we find ourselves today or so quickly."
