By ordering Jews out of a Hevron home, Defense Minister Ehud Barak is violating their human rights, the Land of Israel Legal Forum argued Monday. “With this decision, the Defense Minister is cooperating with left-wing groups supported by enemies of the state that seek to uproot Jews from their land and property, and is dealing an insufferable blow to equality before the law,” activists said.
The IDF Civil Administration has ordered that Jews be evicted from Beit Hamachpelah, a home in Hevron that was legally purchased, due to concerns that local Palestinian Authority Arabs could react with violence.
