An Interior Ministry committee has given its approval to a construction project in the Malcha neighborhood of Jerusalem. The project is to include building 400 homes in the western and southern parts of the neighborhood.

The city of Jerusalem was strongly affected by the sharp rise in housing prices between 2008 and 2011. Demand for housing in the city remains high.
