The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange posted modest gains in mixed trading on Sunday. The TA Composite index closed at 1,025.95, up .63 percent while the TA 100 rose .64 percent to 1,039.05, including a .41 percent gain to 1,129.43 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Leading the gainers were the insurance stocks, which rose 1.67 percent to 1,027.40, as the financial institutions finished the week's first day of trading at 922.96, up 1.41 percent, including a .99 percent advance to 1,004.18 by the bank index. The real estate issues closed at 286.57, up 1.27 percent, while the biomed stocks rose .76 percent to 739.33 and the rest of the technology issues finished the day at 323.75, up 55 percent. The oil and natural gas stocks declined 1.02 percent to 1,239.08 and the communications/media index closed at 626.54, down 1.72 percent.
