Energy and Water Minister Uzi Landau said, Sunday afternoon, that the decision of the Supreme Court to evict Jews from the Binyamin-region community of Migron must be carried out, but the government must not abandon them. During a visit by members of the Yisraeli Beiteinu Knesset faction, he expressed the party's support for the community and Judea and Samaria in general, explaining that the government which sent the residents there and built roads and infrastructure for them bears the responsibility to ensure their future.
Dr. Landau added that a situation should not be created in which thousands of Jews are uprooted, as was the case for almost 10,000 Jews in Gaza and northern Samaria in 2005 under then prime minister Ariel Sharon's Disengagement Program. He noted that, seven years later, many of them have not found proper permanent solutions to their plight. Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon echoed Landau's sentiments.
