Croatia, South Africa Join Iran Oil Boycott

Croatia announced, Thursday that it  was joining the boycott of Iranian oil and banning the export of oil-related technology and equipment in response to the Tehran government's nuclear development program. While the former component of Yugoslavia is not a member of the European Union, which announced the boycott about two months ago, it is expected to join in about a year and a half.

A senior South African official said Thursday that that his country has frozen all its Iranian oil imports and will agree to a United States request to significantly reduce the amount of crude it receives from the Islamic Republic. Deputy Foreign Minister Ibrahim Ibrahim said he didn't know of any Iranian crude reaching South Africa, adding that if there was any, it was very little."
