Agreement with Nurses Brings Hospitals Back to Normal

The Nurses' Federation reached agreement, Thursday, with the ministries of Health and Finance regarding steps to deal with overcrowding in hospitals, increasing the number of nurses and improving their work conditions. Hospitals are getting back to normal.

Among the steps are the assignment of 116 additional nurses to emergency rooms, an increase in the pay for special additional shifts, an increase in the number of students and the granting of scholarships to those who will commit to work in the public health system. Other steps include rent subsidies for beginning nurses in emergency rooms, wards and the south, and expansion of geriatric hospitalization to increase the number of beds while easing the load on hospitals.
