S. African Singer Wins "A Jewish Star" Competition

Choni Goldman, a 28-year-old from Johannesburg, South Africa is the winner of the third annual A Jewish Star singing competition. The final event and voting took place New York City. There were 115 contestants for the 2012 competition. Over 500,000 votes were cast online. The judges for the finals were singer Avraham Fried, comedian Mendy Pellin and music producer Eli Gerstner and composer Yossi Green.

Dovid Moskovits of Flushing, New York, was chosen as the junior winner. All 8 adult finalists and four junior finalists performed on stage at the finale concert Monday evening.
