French Ambassador: Crime Against Shared Values

Ambassador Christophe Bigot told the Knesset Immigration Absorption and Diaspora Committee, Tuesday, that following Monday's murder of four Jews - three of them children - outside a Toulouse synagogue, "The shock in France is great," labelling the killing as "barbaric". Noting the increase in security at Jewish institutions and the suspension of the presidential campaign, he added, "This case is not only a crime against the victims, it's a crime against democracy and against the common values ​​of Israel and France.

Bigot noted, "Last year was the year with the least anti-Semitic incidents in France in the last decade." Committee Chairman Danny Danon responded "All over the world there are fewer cases, but the severity of the incidents increases every year."
