Police Station for the Tomb of Shimon Hatzadik

Jerusalem-area police chief Niso Shacham decided, Tuesday to establish a permanent police station at the Tomb of Shimon Hatzadik in Jerusalem, after Jewish residents posted a video of Arabs beating Jewish worshippers at the site.

Jewish residents of the neighborhood, who have returned to Jewish homes evacuated by the British in the 1930's Arab riots, welcomed the decision, expressing hope that the neighborhood would become as quiet as every other neighbohood in the country. Two years ago, the Knesset Interior Committee decided to put guards at the site, but the move lasted only a few months.
