Tel Aviv Demonstration Against Transportation Minister

Dozens of students and social activists protested, Thursday evening at the Arlozorov train station in Tel Aviv against Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz's initiative to privatize the Israel Railways. The Task Force in the Struggle Against Privatization of the Railroad, which stood behind the demonstration, issued a statement which said, "Katz wants to dismantle the train and give it to cronies and capital owners. We will not stand by while they privatize the train and rob all of us."

To illustrate the message, the activists dressed in black like a gang of thieves, carrying bags of money, and carried out "The Great Train Robbery of the Minister of Transport". Demonstrators carried signs that read: "Katz is stealing the train," "The Great Trains Robbery" and "Privatization = accident."
