Dozens of studentsand social activistsprotested,Thursday evening at theArlozorovtrain stationin TelAvivagainst Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz's initiativeto privatize the Israel Railways. The Task Force in the Struggle Against Privatization of the Railroad, which stood behind the demonstration, issued a statement which said, "Katzwants to dismantlethetrainand give itto croniesandcapitalowners.We will notstand bywhilethey privatizethetrainandroball of us."
To illustratethe message,the activistsdressedin black like a gang ofthieves,carryingbags of money,and carried out "The Great Train Robberyofthe Minister of Transport".Demonstratorscarriedsigns that read:"Katz is stealingthe train," "The Great Trains Robbery"and "Privatization=accident."
