The cabinet approved, Sunday, a program to increase the participation of women in local government. The current level of representation is 12 percent.

The cabinet also observed International Women's Day by discussing recommendations of a committee appointed by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to prevent the exclusion or marginalization of women.
