Japan Marks a Year Since Earthquake/Tsunami

Somber ceremonies were held in Japan Sunday marking the one year anniversary of the devastating earthquake and tsunami that caused the serious nuclear accident at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plan in northeast Japan, the most serious nuclear incident sine the 1986 Chernobyl disaster. Over 18,000 people were killed in the devastation, and some 25,000 are still homeless.

The main memorial ceremony will be held later Sunday at Tokyo\'s National Theater. Anti-nuclear protests are set to be held during the ceremony by protesters who wish to shut down Japan's nuclear system altogether.
