A report in Sunday's Washington Post said that the United States is “seriously considering” intervening in Syria. According to the report, the U.S. has been consulting with other countries about putting together a peacekeeping force. Another move the U.S. is considering is arming Syrian opposition groups, and the establishment of a “humanitarian corridor” for rebel forces, as well as air attacks on sensitive Syrian military installations.
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is set to meet Monday with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in New York to discuss the Syria issue.
