Knesset Ethics Committee Slams Tibi

The Knesset Ethics Committee on Monday issued a condemnation of MK Ahmed Tibi over a speech he made last year. The “Martyr's Day” speech in the Palestinian Authority. The speech was recently unearthed by Palestinian Media Watch (PMW), which specializes in publicizing the anti-Israel and anti-Semitic trends in the PA media.

In the speech, the committee said, Tibi “praised and showed great respect for terrorist acts against Israeli citizens and soldiers. It's pretty clear to most Israelis that an MK is supporting and praising people who killed Israelis in terror attacks. While the Ethics Committee is very careful to encourage freedom of speech for MKs, we find it proper to differentiate between political comments and comments that aid, encourage, and praise terror,” the committee said.
