The head of a Libyan militia said, Sunday evening, that British journalists Nicholas Davies and Gareth Montgomery-Johnson, who were detained last month, are suspected of being spies, according to the Independent. Faraj Al-Swehli said official Libyan documents, equipment used by the Israeli military and footage of them firing weapons were found among their possessions .
The two work for Iran's Press TV. Swehli said it was too early to say which country they were spying for. He added that the two men were being treated well and that they had been visited by British consular officials and representatives from New York-based Human Rights Watch. Swehli said, "After we have finished the investigation we are going to transfer them to the state authorities to pursue the legal process against them."
