Defense Minister Ehud Barak met on Wednesday with United States Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta at the Pentagon building in Washington D.C. The two discussed the security issues related to the two countries, the situation in Syria and Iran's nuclear ambitions. Following the disucssion Barak told news media, "the meeting underscores the close defense ties between the U.S. and Israel. The meeting was important and useful."
