Interior Minister Eli Yishai, responding to remarks by the CEO of the Strauss company on the prices of products abroad compared to the prices of those same products in Israel, called on Wednesday to open the Israeli market for competition.
“The State of Israel must promote legislation that would remove barriers to imports from abroad and work to lower taxes for local manufacturers,” said Yishai. “Opening the market to competition will lead to lower prices.”
