The Knesset Committee has approved the request of MK Shachiv Shnaan to join the Independence party. 9 MKs were in favor, 2 were against, and one abstained.
MK Shnaan said, “My decision is out of moral considerations. I do not have the authority to cancel an Independence party mandate. I am here in place of former MK Matan Vilna’I, who belonged to this party.
Shnaan clarified that he resigned from State service before Vilnai’s resignation took effect.
