Hizbullah: We'll Attack Israel to Preserve Assad

Hizbullah said Sunday that it would do everything necessary to prevent the fall of Bashar al-Assad as leader of Syria – even attacking Israel. A Hizbullah spokesperson said that the terror group was working to ensure Assad's preservation as leader of the country, and that it has some “surprises” for anyone that tried to remove Assad from power.

Syrian officials praised the vetoes by Russia and China of a UN Security Council resolution demanding that Assad step down. Meanwhile, reports said that Assad's assault on the city of Homs continued overnight Saturday, with several dozen more people reported killed.
