Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin announced, at Monday's meeting of the Knesset presidium, that Member of Knesset Eli Aflalo (Kadima) submitted a letter of resignation Monday morning. The nine-year veteran of the assembly will be named Co-Chairman of the Keren Kayemet L'Yisrael (Jewish National Fund).

The resignation will go into effect in 48 hours. MK Aflalo asked to give  a farewell speech before the Knesset, when it meets, Monday afternoon. Entering the Knesset will be Avi Duan, the next on the Kadima list.
