Mofaz Stops Committee Meeting Because of Arutz Sheva

Chairman Shaul Mofaz of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee stopped the committee's policy session with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Monday, after claiming that Netanyahu's spokesman made false accusations against him.

During the meeting, Mofaz was informed of the lead story on Arutz Sheva's Hebrew site, according to which, Mofaz claimed that Chief of Staff Benny Gantz did not tell the truth about the defense budget. According to the report, the prime minister objected to Mofaz's claim, adding that his government had added a level of transparency to the defense budget. Mofaz was surprised by the report and announced the suspension of the meeting in protest.
