Most of the principle indices of the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange posted modest to moderate gains Thursday.The TA composite index rose .42 percent to 1,016.58, while the TA 100 finished the final day of the trading week at 1,024.94, up .46 percent for the day, including a half-percent gain to 1,128.55 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Leading the gainers were the oil and gas stocks, which rose 1.89 percent to 1,317.10. With the bank index closing at 993, up 1.66 percent, the financial institutions gained 1.18 percent to 923.69, including a 1,079.06 finish by the insurance issues, up four tenths of a percent. With most of the technology stocks rising a percent to 286.70, the biomed index closed at 784.07, up .24 percent. The real estate index rose .29 percent to 278.85, while the communications index declined .45 percent to 739.54.
