Chairman DovBaharav of Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) warned the Space Subcommittee of the Knesset Science and Technology Committee, Thursday that"if Israeldoes notwin the Amos6 [contract],IAIwill have toclose itsGEOsatelliteproductionline."He also said thatcomparedto the State ofIsrael, whicdoes not investsignificantlyitsspaceindustry, the European Space Agencyrecentlyinvested3 billion Euros in the European Union spaceindustry.
Baharav's comments came during a subcommittee tour of the IAI space factory. The military surveillance satellite would replace one lost in a failed launching.
