Israel Offers Chile Forest-Fire Aid

The Foreign Ministry expressed solidarity, Tuesday, with the people of Chile in the wake of the giant forest fire which started a week ago in the Torres de Paine national park. In a statement, the ministry said it was interested in sending forestry experts to give whatever assistance they can. The ministry also wants to send saplings to plan as part of rehabilitative efforts once the fires are history.

An Israeli tourist has been charged with starting the fire out of negligence. Since his arrest, other suspects have surfaced.
