Most of the major indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened trading, Tuesday morning, with modest gains. The TA composite average stood at 995.87, up .44 percent from Monday's close, while the TA-100 rose .46 percent to 1,004.83, including a .34 percent rise by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues to 1,111.36.
The insurance index stood at 1,073.49, up nine tenths of a percent, as the financial institutions also rose.34 percent, reaching 902.55, including a .15 percent decline by the bank stocks to 956.29. Most of the technology stocks were also up .9 percent at 280.13, while the biomed index opened at 731.40, up .57 percent. The communications stocks rose .63 percent to 772.11, while the real estate index opened at 276.98, up .42 percent and the oil and natural gas issues stood at 1,202.21, up .23 percent.
