The United States is about to announce the sale of 84 F-15 fighter planes to Saudi Arabia, senior American officials said Thursday. The 30-billion-dollar deal includes the upgrading of 70 aircraft.

About a year ago, Congress approved $60-billion, 10-year arms deal with the Saudis, which also included helicopters, missiles, radar systems and night-vision equipment.  The deal was made over the concerns of some representatives that the deal would harm Israel.
