Member of Knesset Avishai Braverman (Labor) welcomed, Tuesday, Monday's decision by Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz to accept a committee recommendation to build an additional international airport in Nevatim, southeast of Be'er Sheva, where the Israel Air Force has a base.
The former head of Be'er Sheva's Ben Gurion University said, "An international airport in Nevatime will give a tremendous boost to the metropolis of the Negev. In contrast, the idea of setting up the airport precisely at Megiddo in the north will severely harm the environment and residents of the region."
