Ministers: Break to Reservists' Spouses; Wait to Women

The Ministerial Committee on Legislation endorsed, Sunday, a bill by Member of Knesset Eitan Cabel (Labor) under which parents of children under the age of 13 would be allowed to arrive at work an hour later than usual or leave an hour earlier while their spouses are on reserve duty lasting at least four days.

At the same time, the committee decided to remove a proposal by MK Tzipi Hotovely (Likud) from the agenda, which would have made the process for firing a pregnant woman the same as that for firing a reserves soldier. Also deferred was a bill by Knesset Member Orit Zuaretz (Kadima) that would allow time and place for full-time working mothers of children under four months to nurse.
