Cases Closed Against Israeli Flotilla Participants

Attorney-General Yehuda Weinstein decided, Thursday to close the file against Israelis who participated in the flotilla which attempted to break the Gaza naval blockade at the end of May 2010. According to a statement by the State Prosecutors' Office, "After a look at all the evidence in the case and the applicable legal questions, the attorney general decided to close the case because of significant evidentiary and legal difficulties that were discovered regarding elements of proof of the offense and the application of Israeli sentencing law to crimes committed outside the country."
