Hareidi Sect Attacks Fundraisers in Mea She'arim

A model dressed as a pack of banknotes was attacked, this week, by members of the hareidi-religious Sikrik sect during the shooting of a Chanukah video in Jerusalem's Mea She'arim neighborhood. The assailants demanded that the Oorah organization, which is dedicated to bringing Jewish heritage to non-observant Jews, stop the shoot out of what they claimed was inappropriate behavior for the hareidi-religious neighborhood.

Representatives of Oorah Israel told Arutz Sheva that they did not support the video shooting, saying the American branch of the organization did not understand the sensitivity of the neighborhood and should have taken it into consideration. Mea She'arim was one of a number of popular locations where the videos were shot.
