MK Ze'ev: Cancel Closure of Yitzhar Yeshiva

Member of Knesset Nissim Ze'ev (Shas) called, Thursday, for cancellation of a decision by the director-general of the Education Ministry to close the Dorshei Yechudecha yeshiva in the Samarian Jewish community of Yitzhar. Interviewed by Arutz Sheva's Hebrew service, Ze'ev, called the closure a matter of hate and persecution, adding that the ministry should present the Knesset's Education Committee - on which he serves - the "confidential material" on which the closure was based.

Referring to the controversy over the book Torat Hamelech during the last school year, due to what it said about the treatment of non-Jews during time of war - written by Rabbi Yitzchak Shapiro, who teaches at the yeshiva - MK Ze'ev said the next step would be banning the reading of the Torah for what it says. He added that if there was a criminal case, authorities should bring it to court.
