Only One Pray Mate for Yigal Amir

The Petach Tikva District Court rejected, Thursday, a bid by Yigal Amir, the convicted killer of Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin, to have the court reconsider his request to pray with other prisoners. Judge Avraham Tal wrote that the Prisons Service refusal to grant Amir's request was reasonable, but that an effort should be made to find a place with security conditions that allow him to pray with more than one prisoner at a time.

The judge also instructed the Prisons Service not to limit the number of learning texts and prayer books at Amir's disposal, subject to security considerations.
