Chairman Shlomo Bouchbout of the Center for Local Government said, Tuesday, that the leadership of the social justice movement is not focused regarding the topics of its campaign. During a visit to the Academic College of Netanya, the mayor of Ma'alot Tarshicha said the leadership did not accept his proposal to concentrate on affordable housing, banker salaries and bank fees, lowering the cost of living and strengthening peripheral areas. He added that cooperation between the Center for Local Government and the campaign depends on agreement on these issues.
Bouchbout hit the Trajtenberg Committee on socioeconomic change for its recommendation that education for three and four-year-olds be free because the exemption from payment already exists in development towns. He said that students from the peripheral areas who learn in the center of the country should be given grants that will allow them to live in the center during their studies.
