Shekel Down, Dollar Slips, Euro Up

The official value of the shekel declined an average of .24 percent, Friday, against most of the currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.721, down .054 percent from Thursday's rate, while the Euro rose .566 percent to 5.0816 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at NIS 5.924, down .007 percent, while the Japanese yen rose .321 percent, 100 yen buying 4.8097 shekels. The South African rand was fixed at NIS .4685, up 1.079 percent, while the Norwegian krona rose .644 percent to .6561 shekels and the Danish krone was set at .6828 shekels, up .56 percent.
