C'tee Votes to Keep Women's Retirement Age at 62

The Knesset Labor, Welfare, and Health Committee voted unanimously on Monday to send the full Knesset, for its first reading, a bill by Committee Chairman Chaim Katz and Member of Knesset Ilan Gilon (Meretz-New Left) that would keep the retirement age for women from rising above 62. Under the bill, the status quo would be maintained, whereby women could claim early receipt of pension benefits from the National Insurance Institute (Bituach Le'umi) from the age of 62, subject to income.
