Jordan's King Abdullah II said Monday that he was “more pessimistic than ever” at the possibility that Israel and the PA would work out a deal. At an economic conference, Abdullah said that Israel was not really interested in a two state solution. A “one state solution,” he said, would be bad for the entire region, he added.
Abdullah also said that the situation in Syria was very complicated, and that no one knew how to resolve it. He added that he had made several attempts to ensure that the lines of communication with Damascus remained open.
