Terror Alert in Jerusalem Lifted

Israel Radio reported that the high terror threat alert announced earlier for the Jerusalem area had been lowered. Residents were asked to remain vigilant as usual, but officials said that the immediate danger that had been perceived had been dealt with at this time, the report said.

Earlier brisk activity of police cars and helicopters at the western entrance to Jerusalem was attributed to a terror alert in the capital. Terror organizations are apparently making an effort to execute a bombing incident in or around Jerusalem, following the release of Gilad Shalit.
