Following Sunday's mostly moderate to sharp increases, the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange started trading, Monday morning, with modest gains. The TA composite index was up .19 percent at 1018.98. The same percentage was good enough for an opening average of 267.91 for the technology issues, including a .34 percent rise by the biomed index to 741.33.
The insurance issues, which fell on Sunday, started the week's first day of international trading at 1,190.49, up .7 percent, followed by the oil and natural gas index, which rose .64 percent to 1,113.39. The communications and media index opened at 876.50, up .47 percent.
